Hello, and welcome to WI$E Money Matters, the official blog of NeuroWI$E Financial, LLC, a Jacksonville financial coaching firm. I’m owner and founder Kenyon Sutton, and I’m here to help you build a healthier, more empowered relationship with your money.
For the past 15 years, I’ve worked in the banking and credit union industries as a financial educator, coach, and counselor. My personal mission has always been simple: help everyday people have a better relationship with money. How do I do this? I help them understand money and navigate the financial system so they can reach their life goals.
My Journey: From Banking to Entrepreneurship
In December 2023, everything changed. I was laid off from what I thought was my dream job, overseeing the financial health department at a $2.5B credit union in Florida. I had built that department from the ground up, growing it from a one-person operation to a team of four, serving over 75 companies and thousands of Florida residents. We offered financial education workshops, one-on-one financial coaching, and other financial wellness programs that helped people understand their money personality and manage finances in ways that worked for them.
When the department was shut down, I was devastated. What I had poured eight years of my life into vanished in just three weeks. While my team transitioned into other roles, I was left unemployed, unsure of my next step, and responsible for a family of six. The stress and uncertainty were overwhelming.
For six months, I searched for a new role, holding on to hope that my experience and skills would speak for themselves. I interviewed with banks, nonprofits, tech companies, and more, but no one seemed to see the transferability of my skills and expertise in marketing, business development, and financial health. My mental health suffered as a result.
Then, in July 2024, a friend reached out with a small opportunity to develop and lead financial education workshops for a local nonprofit. That moment sparked the beginning of NeuroWI$E Financial, LLC. Suddenly, I had a renewed sense of purpose. I spent the following months building my business, helping individuals, couples, and families achieve financial clarity and confidence.
My Mission Today
Today, I am a financial coach dedicated to helping people navigate financial systems that often aren’t built for them – whether they are neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, or members of other marginalized communities. My goal is simple: help you reach your full potential and thrive financially and personally.
I take a collaborative, empathetic approach to coaching. Everyone experiences financial challenges, and I know firsthand how overwhelming they can be. Together, we create a safe space to explore your financial decisions, the emotions behind them, and your goals. You decide what we focus on—I provide the guidance, expertise, strategies, and accountability to help you succeed.
My Personal Experience
I understand how daunting financial challenges can be. Years ago, I was overwhelmed by credit card debt, paralyzed by fear and stress. With encouragement from my family and a structured plan, I paid off my debt one step at a time. That journey not only gave me financial freedom but also inspired the way I work with my clients today.
The key lesson? Financial wellness takes time. It won’t happen overnight. You need patience, perseverance, and self-discipline. Every small step counts. Remember the old adage: “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”
